I'm back with a Goofy Goober

First of all I'm sorry for being MIA for so long. I had a power cord disaster and all of my Christmas to do's kept me away.

This is a layout of my little boy, he's my Goofy Goober.

Lovin' the simplicity of this layout and the bright colors on black and white.

The patterned papers are Basic Grey Lime Rickey and the buttons are Paper Trey Ink

Hey all

Just want to pop in and let you all know that my laptop charger died so I'm unable to use my computer. I was able to pop in and borrow my sisters for a minute while I order a new one. It should be here in a few days so don't miss me too much until then.

I'm going through withdrawals without my computer :( but I promise I'll be back soon.

An oldie but a goodie ;)

So this should have been posted a few months ago, but it slipped away from me. Things have a tendancy to do that with me occasionally, well more than occasionally. I blame it on the kids, haha ;)

Anyways, enough babble for the day. These are the first day of school goodies that I made for my boys, it was Dylan's 1st day of Kindergarten and Tyler's first day of pre-school. The whole set uses the Teachers pet line from Imaginisce

Here is a pencil holder

Yummy coffeshop cookies with tags wishing them a great first day.

and lastly their super star son card.
I also made tucked away boxes for the teachers but forgot to take a photo of them. It works out that a full bag of ghirardelli chocolates fits perfectly in the box.

very Merry!

Here's my latest layout for ScrapSketch. I had the Friday challenge this week and this sketch was so much fun to work with. The patterned papers are Bo Bunny and the craft and red cardstocks are Papertrey Ink. If you've been stumped for layout ideas be sure to check out the sketches over at http://www.scrapsketch.com/, they always get me out of a layout slump.

I LOVE buttons!

It's true, buttons and I have a serious love affair, but shhh... don't tell my hubby ::wink::

If you're a button lover like me you've got to check out the everyday button bits stamp set from http://www.papertreyink.com/. SOOooo much fun!

Here are a couple clean and simple cards created with the set. It only took about 5 minutes for each of them, and they're so cute and fun. This is not the last you'll see of the button bits here on the blog-o, don't say I didn't warn you!

Well I've already rid the castle of clutter, dirt and dust now I'm off to create a gourmet hot dog lunch and conquer "mount washmore".

Lil Squirt

Today we've got a sick lilttle boy who's snuggling in my lap as I attempt to type and pushing buttons. Say hi Tyler "mmnnnbvvvvv" of course dylan can't be left out, so he typed his name. haha

I'll keep it brief today. Here's another layout that is so my style, I love it. The photo is of my oldest about two weeks after my baby was born. Seems like I took this photo just yesterday but it's already been well over 3 years.

The journaling tag pulls out to reveal a message just for my little guy

and tucks back in nicely so my handwriting is preserved but doesn't mess up the clean lines.

ZOO much fun!

This August my parents, the boys and I took a trip to the NEW (North East Wisconsin) Zoo where I was able to practice my photography skills and the boys didn't have to be my models most of the time, they sure appreciated that. It was so much fun photographing all the different animals and I got some amazing pictures. Someday I'll finish editing them all but in the meantime, here are a few of my favorites.

Isn't he cute and fluffy!

The laziest lion I've ever known, this was the only time he even moved while I was around. Here I was waiting for a huge roar, but he didn't want to do anything. Must have been nap time.

This here eagle was my best model, as long as I was taking his picture he sat there so nice and still looking right in my direction. As soon as I was done though he turned his back to me.

The NEW zoo has an amazing giraffe exibit where you walk up a large ramp and are right at head level with the giraffes, you can even feed them. Of course they weren't hungry but my kids were so we couldn't hang out long enough to feed them. Next time.

Keep Smiling :)

ZOO much fun!

This summer my parents and I took the boys to the NEW (North East Wisconsin) Zoo. Where I was able to enjoy all the critters with my two little critters and practice my photography skills. I got some really amazing pictures of the animals but my boys were far less cooperative. It had been a long photo packed weekend with Chuck E Cheeses and Build a Bear workshop so they were pictured out.
This layout features Imaginisce patterned papers and some vintage buttons from PTI. Love the simple layout with the emphasis on the photos. I'll add some journaling under the title after but I'll save you all the horror of my handwriting, ha!

My style: Defined

This layout is "my style" to a T. Simple, brightly colored, detailed, grounded, with white space so your eye can rest.

It's also what I aspire to do with my layouts, add lots of meaningful journaling. I don't know if you'll be able to read this or not, but it tells all about what I know about Dylan at 5 years old. I'll love to look back and read all the little things about him when he's grown.

and theres stars, oh how I {heart} stars!!!

and buttons. I was joking with my husband the other day and said if I were to tell people that the possessions that make me the most happy are buttons and paper, everyone would call me CRAZY!! I'll just keep that little tid-bit to myself, shhh.. don't tell!

A long overdue ScrapSketch

Many of you know that I've been away a little while for a family emergency. Thanks to those of you who are still hanging around!! :)

This is my last ScrapSketch, Sketch #174

Think I say this every time but this one is my new favorite!! The photos were taken at the Hayes Corn Maze. Dylan (in the top photo) posed with the pumpkins without any prompting and said "Mom, take my picture here!" Happy to oblige, Dyl.

Papers are Reminisce and the acorn and metal photo corner are too. Fonts are Sesame Street Font and Pooh Font Cricut cartridges. The pumpkin is three ovals inked and layered and I hand cut the stem. See the braided twine? I loved that touch, kind of rustic and fall-y (is that a technical term?? ha!)

Thanks for stopping by and I've got a lot of blog catch up to do so I do hope you'll stop by again soon!

holy costume batman

Every year at a nearby campground they have what's called Harvest Fest where the kiddos (and some dogs ::wink::) get dressed up in their costumes and trick or treat around the campground. It is so much fun and everyone has a great time. I try to theme the kids costumes, which they'll either grow up to think is so cool or majorly dorky haha, only time will tell. Anyways, last year we went with a pirate theme and this year we decided to do a super hero theme. My oldest is spider man, my youngest is batman and my furry nephew is superman.

I probalby say this alot but I'm in love with this layout!! This was made for Scrap Sketch using sketch #168. If you're a sketch user, or even if you're not, you should go check out Scrap Sketch. These sketches jump start my mojo like nothing else!!

Future Daughter-in-law?

My boys and I recently stood in my good friends wedding (Love you Traci!!). The day was absolutely beautiful and every single detail was perfect. My oldest boy fell in love with the flower girl. They were so cute after the wedding walking down the aisle together pretending to get married. I ask him, "Hey Dyl, will you save a dance for me at the reception?" His answer... "No way Mom, I'm dancing with Gracie all night" OUCH!! Can you hear my heart breaking? At least he's got good taste, she's cute as a button and sweet as can be.

The flower pulls out to reveal a journaling sheet that tells the whole story. Layout based on ScrapSketch sketch #161

Shoot for the moon

Maybe it's just me but some days when I'm looking around at the amazing talent in this papercraft world I just feel like I could never possibly be good enough. Do you have days like that?

Well the other day I was walking with a good friend whom I had given a card set for Christmas and she started talking about how much she loved the cards and that she'd love to buy some more from me. Maybe she was just stroking my ego but she said she knew her friends at work would want to buy some as well and the conversation just went on until she was planning my bilboards and setting me up for the today show, hahaha. Okay, maybe the today show will have to wait ::wink:: It gave me a serious ego boost and I stopped into a local store who sells beautiful handmade things for local crafters. I showed the owner a few of my cards and she loved them and is now helping me sell them!!

Well, short story long, I want to remind you to never doubt your abilities!! Shoot for the moon, if you will.

Which brings me to todays card, it's an older one, but it should be new to you and I thought it appropriate for todays post.

Thank you for stopping by and if you would, please leave me a comment about a time when you've felt not good enough and how you proved yourself wrong.

A layout and a card

Are you feelin' fall yet? This morning was a very fall morning here. I love the smell of fall and the crisp morning air.

This card/envelope combo was made for Chirper Challenge. Our challenge was all about the envelopes this week and we were to use fall as our inspiration.

Thankfully this afternoon is much more summery and since we had a very cold summer I'm still holding on to every bit of it I can.

Here's my latest Scrapsketch layout. I had a lot of fun with this one and LOVE these photos of my boys beachin' it.

Thanks for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Jackie

100% all boy card

Here's a little boy card that I made the other day while I was making the whoo do you love layout (see previous post). I love the look of nestabilities but budget just doesn't allow if I want to have any $$ to buy paper to cut, so here is my faux nestability look. Using my cricut I cut the marquee shape and another that was the same size, then I placed the border over it and sponged ink around the edges and bottom. It's a really easy and fun technique that I'm sure I'll be using agian and again.

I absolutely adore this card, hope you do too!

Supplies:
Patterned papers: Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy collection.
Cardstock: Cream from Michaels
Ribbon: Basic Basic fom Michaels, Rustic button twine from PaperTrey Ink
Button: PaperTrey Ink rustic wood
Punch: Fiskars Apron Lace punch
Stamps: Truck is part of a set from Oriental Trading Company I'm not sure of the manufacturer, 100% all boy I'm not sure where that one came from
