Maile Belles is one of my stamping idols. I love the way she can make something CAS so striking. This card was inspired by one of hers from a couple weeks back.
The text background (from BB: Hearts) is inked in dark chocolate and stamped off before stamping on the craft. It just gives a more subtle look.
Supplies (all PTI unless noted)
Cardstocks: Craft, Spring Moss, Sweet Blush, White (HP)
Stamps: Polka Dot Basics II, Background Basics Hearts, Delightful Dahlia
Ink: Sweet Blush, Dark Chocolate, Black (staz-on), Tea Dye Duo
Other: Beautiful Blooms II flower dies, Delightful Dahlia leaf dies, Sweet Blush button, Embroidery thread, Corner Punch (Martha Stewart)
Gosh, kraft is everywhere! I love this card. I especially like the flower you made with the dies. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh Jackie this is such a pretty card! Love it and love Maile too, you did her proud:)
ReplyDeleteThis is really quite striking Jackie. SO soft and pretty. Love the lighter text too. What setting do you use on your camera? I just love how the NG is out of focus here!
ReplyDeleteDana - My camera is a DSLR so I just use a low aperture, I think 3.2 or so? and I keep my card 2-3 feet from the background. If you can't change the aperture manually with your camera you should get similar results with the macro setting.
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely!! I also love Maile; I don't think I've ever seen anyone do "simple" as beautifully as she does.
ReplyDeleteI love this! So pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a HUGE Maile fan and your card is PERFECT! So beautiful!!
