hoo do you love?

Here's my latest layout for ScrapSketch. Last Saturday/Sunday/Monday my parents and I took the boys to Build-a-Bear Workshop as part of their birthday present, which means that I got to hit up Archivers so I've got a TON of new papers and goodies that you'll be seeing in the coming weeks/months. I've never known anybody to get so excited about new paper, LMAO, you get it though right?!?

On all of the letters and hearts I used UTEE to make them puffy and glassy, I really LOVE the look, it adds a lot.

Here's a look at that cute little owl, I pop dotted his belly so he looks more 3D.

Supplies:

Cream CS from Michaels (not sure of brand), Brown CS (scallops) misc. scrap from stash.
Ripe avocado CS from PaperTrey Ink
Patterned papers, Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy
Die cut owl and branch, Cosomo Cricket Mr. Campy
Buttons, rustic wood from PaperTrey Ink
Little hearts are a small heart punch from who knows where, I've had it forever :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

ScrapSketch is "Bringin' back the oldies"

You have found your way to the caboose of the ScrapSketch August Blog Hop. I hope you've enjoyed all of the amazing layouts the ScrapSketch gals have created for you! If you haven't been there yet be sure to check out all the CT's blogs (link list at end of post).

Our theme this month is "Bringin' back the oldies" so all of the CT members chose one of the first 20 sketches. Well, being that I don't like to "color inside the lines" so to speak, I used Sketch #22. Yeah I know, I'm such a rule breaker ::wink:: haha

Now because of the "oldies" theme I chose an old picture for my layout. This is my little sister and I in 1988, talk about a blast from the past. I couldn't bring myself to use the actual picture and it needed to be cropped and enlarged a little bit so I scanned and reprinted the picture, hence the less than stellar quality. But I feel it goes with the "old" feel I was going for.

Now, here is the RAK I have up for grabs. It includes a K&Co 4"x5.5" inch raw chipboard mini book, a Brenda Walton Small Wonders Boy 4.75"x6.75" mat stack from K&Co and a package of 5 gelly-o frames from Rob and Bob Studio.

Here's what to do for entry:
Leave a comment on this post for 1 entry.
Make a layout using this or any other ScrapSketch (link to it on http://www.scrapsketch.com/ and leave a comment here to tell me about it) for 3 entries.
Follow my blog for 2 entries.
This RAK will close on Monday August 24th at 9p.m. eastern time.
Here's the blog hop list, make sure you check them all out and there are RAK's along the way too!!

always be yourself

Here's my latest layout for ScrapSketch. This is my youngest boy and he is such a character! Everyday he makes me laugh out loud, he's always doing something silly like jumping into the bath with his clothes on.
The title block flips open to reveal the journaling about all the silly things my little one does.
Hope you like it.
Hugs,
Jackie

Check out our sweet mohawks!

My silly boys used to insist on having mohawks every time they went in the tub. Dylan (my oldest) used to pronounce it more like "mo-ocks" and it was just so cute coming out of his little mouth. He would make me laugh every time. Fun times.

The page is based on sketch #134 from ScrapSketch.

Jump-a-roo

This picture is an older one. It's my oldest boy in my sanity saver, the Jump-a-roo. For months it was the only way I was able to get anything done around the house. Gosh, I miss the days when my boys were so little.

Family

Here is one of my favorite photos EVER. On Mothers day my inlaws and parents both came out for dinner. It's always a treat to get everyone together. Anyways, we took the boys to the park and had a photoshoot. On the way home everyone was cold and tired but I talked them into sitting on the township hall steps for one picture. Can you believe how great this turned out, only one shot, seriously!! Everyone is looking and smiling, even the boys! I wish my sister had been there, unfortunately she was working. If she was in there it's be perfect, but as it is now, it still means a lot to me.

The layout uses a ScrapSketch layout. Steph also has an awesome RAK for the month of August so go over to http://www.scrapsketch.com/ and check it out!!

Get in shape challenge

This week's Chirper Challenge was to create a shaped card or layout. I decided on this darling little hello kitty with peek a boo bear. This cut is super cute because the bear is on the inside of the card, how fun. The font is Sesame Street font (my all time favorite, if you haven't noticed ::wink::) I used a small heart punch on the bottom of the ! I just thought it fit perfectly.

Here's a close up of the letters. I used diamond glaze on them and the eyes and nose for some dimension.

See how cute this bear is
